5 year old, Greenville resident, William “Will” Arthur Demet, Jr. was  honored at the South Carolina Aviation Association (SCAA) conference. Demet is SCAA's youngest lifetime member.   Rosylin Weston, Public Relations Director for GSP International  Airport, is pictured presenting the award.  Weston emphasized the importance of our youth and changelleged everyone attending to introduce aviation to a young person this year.

Demet loves to “work” on aircraft when visiting the Greenville  Downtown Airport (GMU), using his flash light and screw driver.  Demet  soloed a “Pedal Version” airplane at the early age of two and was introduced to aviation by his “Pa Pa”, Hank Brown, president of  Greenville, Donaldson, and Camden Jet Centers. His last three birthdays were celebrated with hanger parties at Greenville Jet Center.
