Thomas Shepard Jnr

An American war veteran visited Imperial War Museum Duxford to see the plane he flew in World War II.

Thomas Shepard Jnr, 91, veteran of the 83rd Fighter Squadron, 78th Fighter Group, US Air Force, flew the P-47 Thunderbolt from then RAF Duxford in 1943, aged 23. He flew over occupied Europe in numerous missions.
