On February 16, 2016, at 1130 central standard time, a Cessna P210N, N732FU, collided with trees and the terrain during a forced landing in Bryan, Texas, following a loss of engine power. The private pilot received minor injuries. One passenger received serious injuries and a second passenger was not injured. The airplane sustained substantial damage. The airplane was registered to BIA Air LLC, and was being operated by a private individual under the provisions of 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 as a personal flight. Visual flight rules (VFR) conditions prevailed for the flight which operated on a VFR flight plan. The flight originated from the Arlington Municipal Airport (GKY), Arlington, Texas, about 1100.

The pilot of a small plane carrying two passengers was trying to make an emergency landing Tuesday when it clipped the tree tops in a wooded area in Robertson County and crashed, officials said.

The right wing was severed and the plane landed on its right side, but all three on board escaped serious injury, according to a DPS trooper who said it happened near OSR East.

Authorities said that the plane went down sometime around 11:45 a.m. on Circle X Ranch. A man and one of two women on the plane were injured; the man was carried out on a stretcher while both women walked away from the scene near Jack Rabbit Lane, according to Robertson County Sheriff Gerald Yezak.

"They are three very lucky individuals," Yezak said.

The plane, which was traveling north to south, was a total loss, according to officials. The single-engine blue and white Cessna had the capacity to carry six people, Yezak said.

The man's injuries included lacerations to the forehead and forearm, Yezak said, adding that the woman's shoulder was injured in the incident.

The man was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Bryan and was released Tuesday afternoon after only a few hours, according to a hospital spokesperson.

The plane, which was traveling from Arlington, was a total loss, according to officials.

According to FAA records the aircraft is registered to a company out of Graham called Bia Air, LLC.

The FAA is investigating the exact causes of the crash.

ROBERTSON COUNTY - The Robertson County Sheriff's Office has confirmed to KBTX that a plane has crashed in the county.

Reports indicate the crash happened on private property near the intersection of Jack Rabbit Lane and OSR.

Sheriff Gerald Yezak says three people were involved in the crash. According to DPS, the pilot suffered a non-life threatening head injury and was taken to the hospital on a back board. Two passengers were able to walk away from the crash. One of the three called 911 to report the crash.

According to the sheriff, the small plane was coming from the north. In the crash, the wing was severed, and the plane crashed sideways.
