Transportation Security Administration finds record 73 guns in carry-on bags nationwide this week

BOSTON — It was a record breaking week for the Transportation Security Administration with agents discovering 73 guns in carry-on bags across the country.

TSA says 68 of them were loaded.

In a blog post by the TSA, the agency reminds travelers of the restrictions because apparently people have forgotten.

TSA says its previous record for guns found in carry-on bags in a week was 68 in October 2015.

Passengers are not allowed to bring weapons on board and are not even allowed to bring on novelty items that looks like bombs, grenades or replica military rounds.

You may travel with guns in your checked luggage, but it has to be declared to the airline.

According to the site, two guns were found in carry-on at Boston-Logan this week; one on Tuesday and one on Thursday.
