AIRCRAFT ON TAKEOFF, CRASHED OFF THE SIDE OF THE RUNWAY, THE 1 PERSON ON BOARD WAS FATALLY INJURED, RUSH CITY, MN


Authorities were on the scene of a fatal ultralight plane crash in Rush City, Minnesota.

FAA officials say the crash was reported at 10:28 a.m. Sunday at the Rush City Regional Airport. The crash happened during takeoff, and the 58-year-old pilot was the only one on board at the time, the Chisago County Sheriff's Office says.


Sheriff's officials say the pilot was found dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.


The crash is still under investigation.


Rush City is in Chisago County and is about 60 miles from Minneapolis.
